Pilot Delivery Lead
Latin America will spend this decade deciding whether it builds frontier AI capability or rents it. The region holds the energy, the minerals, the data, and the talent of 660 million people, and almost none of the compute, the models, or the governance leverage. Futuros exists to change that.
Futuros is the evidence platform for that argument: a live, cited, trilingual observatory of 25 countries built to put verifiable numbers in front of heads of state, CELAC, the IDB, CAF, ECLAC, and the private sector. The platform makes the case; pilots make it real. This role owns the second half.

The role
The Pilot Delivery Lead takes pilots from bankable design to signed, running, and measured. Scope, budget, counterpart, timeline, and the unglamorous field work in between. Our design rule is a deliberately diverse country mix: pilots do not stack up in Brazil, Mexico, and Chile while the rest of the region watches.
What you'll do
- Deliver pilots end to end. From a costed design to a signed agreement to a running program: scope, budget, counterpart team, procurement, and timeline.
- Run the field work. Country visits, counterpart management, and the operational problem-solving that no dashboard captures.
- Build local partnerships. Implementing agencies, universities, and community organizations in each pilot country.
- Measure honestly. KPI baselines before launch, evaluation design with the research team, and reporting that says what worked and what did not.
- Report to funders. Milestones, spend, and results with real numbers, on time.
- Feed the platform. What the field teaches goes back into pilot templates, costing models, and the evidence base.
What we're looking for
- Delivery track record. You have run public-sector or development programs in Latin America and can name what you delivered, on what budget.
- Budget ownership. You have held the money and the accountability, and answered for both.
- Operates in ambiguity. Counterparts change, elections happen, procurement stalls; you deliver anyway.
- Professional working Spanish and readiness for regular field travel.
- Founding temperament. You are comfortable owning ambiguous problems with no one above you to escalate to.
Nice to have
- Portuguese, or an indigenous language of the region.
- Monitoring-and-evaluation background: baselines, counterfactuals, honest nulls.
- Public procurement experience on either side of the table.
- Enough data literacy to challenge a KPI that measures the wrong thing.
- Experience in smaller markets: Central America, the Caribbean, the Andean region.
